A portion of George Road will be closed this Thursday, Sept. 21, for paving operations.

Tangipahoa Parish President Robby Miller said George Road will be closed from LA 442 to the intersection of Gas Line Road starting at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday. Miller said crews will be repaving the roadway, and detours will be posted during the overlay operation.

In addition to the George Road project, Miller said Phase 2023 overlay crews will be working in the following areas:

  • Dressing: Snowball Circle Subdivision, Plum Street, Loyd, Miller Lane, West Portier Road, Tina Drive, Oak Creek Trace, Weald Way, Holly Drive, Magnolia Banks, Ruby Oak Court, Graceland, and Recile;
  • Paving (Full Width): Oak Creek Trace, Weald Way, Holly Drive, Ruby Oak Court, Magnolia Banks, George Road, Recile Road, Graceland, Tina, and Corbin Road.

All road work is scheduled as weather permits. Detours will be posted, if necessary, and Miller encourages motorists to use care when traveling through work zones.
