Overview:

Potential Tropical Cyclone Three is forecast to move north with an eventual northeastward turn towards the Louisiana coastline. Slow strengthening is expected with this system once it makes landfall as a tropical storm. The main threats associated with this continue to be heavy rainfall and minor coastal flooding.

Impacts:

• Potential Tropical Cyclone Three is expected in the northern Gulf Coast region starting Friday through the weekend.
• Heavy rainfall is the greatest threat with 6-10 inches of rain forecast across portions of the area and locally higher amounts possible.
• Minor coastal flooding with 1-3ft of inundation along the open coast and 1-2ft of inundation along the lakeshore, with peak water levels Friday evening/Friday night.
• Gusty winds of 35-40 mph inside any rain bands Friday through the weekend.
• A few tornadoes possible Friday and Saturday.
• Dangerous marine conditions expected across the coastal waters.
