Restore Louisiana Homeowner Assistance Program Survey

Were you or someone you know affected by the 2016 floods? If so, you only have a few more weeks to complete the Restore Louisiana Homeowner Assistance Program survey.

Tangipahoa Parish President Robby Miller reminds residents that July 20, 2018, is the deadline to complete the Restore Louisiana Homeowner Assistance Program survey, which is the first step in requesting assistance from the program. 

Residents may complete the survey online at http://restore.la.gov/ or by calling 866-735-2001.

The Restore Louisiana Homeowner Assistance Program will host an outreach event for Tangipahoa residents impacted by the 2016 floods on Thursday, June 14, from 12:30-4:30 p.m. at the Ponchatoula Area Recreation District #1 Events Building, located at 19030 Ponchatoula Parks Drive. At that time, representatives from Restore Louisiana will also be available to assist with formal applications, answer questions about the program and work directly with homeowners on a first-come, first-served basis.  

All flood‐impacted homeowners who have not taken the brief survey are strongly encouraged to complete it, even if they do not believe they will qualify for assistance. Assistance is available regardless of income and regardless of whether you’ve already completed repairs.  Those who qualify based on eligibility requirements will be invited to submit an application. It is important to note that the deadline does not apply to homeowners who have already submitted a survey or an application.

To date, nearly 50,000 homeowners have completed the program survey and 31,060 homeowners have submitted formal applications. Nearly 21,000 applications have been processed and determinations made, and more than 11,043 eligible homeowners have been offered grant awards totaling $292 million.  

The Restore Louisiana Homeowner Assistance Program is an initiative to provide assistance to Louisiana homeowners affected by the floods of 2016. With funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development provided via community development block grants, the program is designed to assist qualifying homeowners with recovery efforts.
