The Tangipahoa Parish Feasibility Study

The Tangipahoa Parish Louisiana Flood Risk Management Study looks at the impact and risks of hurricanes, tropical storm events, riverine flooding, and heavy rainfall on Tangipahoa Parish in Southeast Louisiana.

The Parish includes the major communities of Ponchatoula, Hammond, Robert, Kentwood, and Tickfaw. Nearby is the Tangipahoa River, which runs along the Parish’s west border.

The area is continually impacted by widespread flooding from storm events. As of March and August 2016, residents suffered over $17.4 million for lost productivity. Hurricane Ida directly impacted the study area in 2021.
