TPG Road Work: Week of January 9, 2023

BAPTIST—The parish’s RPC project continues this week with work scheduled on North Baptist Road.

Tangipahoa Parish President Robby Miller said RPC crews are scheduled to install “loop detectors” on North Baptist Road during the week of January 9.

Miller said a loop detector is a signal implanted in the asphalt. That device sends signals to a connected red light, notifying it of waiting vehicles.

"Inductive looping is one of the most commonly used technologies to help with traffic management,” Miller said. “Having this system installed on North Baptist will help with traffic flow at this heavily-traveled intersection.”

Miller asks that motorists use caution in the area while work is being completed this week.

In addition to the RPC project, Phase 22 road contractors will be working on the following projects across Tangipahoa:

  • Paving (full width): Hunt Road, Joe Dyson Road, Verberne Road, East Mulberry, Wallace Court, Premo Road, and Company Road;
  • Dressing: Bradford Road, Wilson Road, LA Polo Farm Road, Premo Road, Spirit of the Forest Road, Song of the Forest Road, North Riverdale Heights Road, Brignac Road, Hilburn Road, South Dykes Road, Rhodus Road, Thurland McGehee Road, Company Road, Otis Slaven Road, and Forbes Road;
  • Patching: Premo Road and Bradley Court.

All work is weather-permitting. Any related closures will be posted on the day of construction.
