Tropical Storm Beta Update - September 19th 10 AM

Emergency Managers of Southeast Louisiana and Southern Mississippi - 

Here is an update concerning Tropical Storm Beta. 

Changes from previous update: 

  • Tropical Storm Watch west of the Mouth of the MS River has been upgraded to a Tropical Storm Warning.

  • Otherwise, no significant changes.

Overview:

  • TS Beta is forecast to move slowly westward through early next week today before turning northeastward mid week.
  • Confidence: Low with respect to track, further intensification, and possible impacts.
     

Impacts:

  • Beta will result in a prolonged period of wet weather across the area this week into mid next week. Flash flooding may become possible depending on where the heaviest rain falls.
  • Prolonged east and northeast winds will result in minor coastal flooding.
