Tropical Update Sep 21, 2pm - No Immediate Threats

Here is an update concerning the potential for tropical cyclone development in the Caribbean.

Changes from previous update:

  • The chance of development continues to increase

Overview and Impacts:

There is a HIGH (70%) chance of tropical cyclone development over the next 2 days and a HIGH (90%) chance of tropical cyclone development over the next 5 days.

  • The disturbance (98L) is expected to continue moving west-northwestward for the next several days
  • It is too soon to determine whether this system will have any impact on the local area
  • If it were to affect the local area, any impacts are still more than 7 days away

We continue to encourage the public to monitor the forecast, review their plans, and refresh their supplies in case they are needed later.
