HAMMOND—Due to weather delays, West Club Deluxe Road will be closed an additional week at the Arnold’s Creek bridge while crews complete concrete base work on the roadway.
Tangipahoa Parish President Robby Miller said the closure has been extended until July 29, and detours will be in place as the closure impacts all vehicular and pedestrian traffic in that portion of the roadway.
Miller explained, “Hurricane Barry delayed work on the Club Deluxe expansion, but the contractor is working hard to get this critical phase of the construction completed so we can reopen the roadway as soon as possible.”
Miller said the following detours will be in place during the closure:
- Residences and businesses located on Club Deluxe west of North Oaks Boulevard can be accessed from U.S. 51/Morrison Boulevard or an alternate route
- Properties from Professional Plaza east on Club Deluxe can be accessed via the SW Railroad roundabout area
No through truck traffic or oversized loads will be permitted on Club Deluxe during this period.
Miller reminds the public that all construction work is weather permitting and may need to be rescheduled or extended in the event of rain.
“We appreciate everyone’s patience, and we encourage everyone to please exercise caution when traveling through these work zones. Please be alert and watchful for work crews and equipment in these areas,” Miller said.
