HAMMOND—Long-awaited drainage improvements are coming to the Wardline Road area, but the construction phase, which begins Tuesday, will mean traffic delays for motorists in that area.

Tangipahoa Parish President Robby Miller said the Wardline Road improvement project begins on Tuesday, Dec. 18 and will impact those areas between Randall Road and Rufus Bankston Road.

Crews from Magee Construction will be working between the hours of 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and as a result, motorists can expect delays due to periodic lane closures throughout the day.

Local traffic should consider an alternate route during the construction process, Miller suggested.
