AMITE—DOTD will utilize alternating lane closures on a portion of LA 1054 midweek so crews can perform asphalt paving operations.

Tangipahoa Parish President Robby Miller said DOTD plans intermittent and alternating lane closures LA 1054 from Wallace Road to LA 16 on June 2 and 3, from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. daily, weather permitting.

Miller said no oversized loads that are greater than 12 feet wide will be allowed through the construction zone during work hours.

Miller said motorists can also expect intermittent road closures with three minute durations on LA 16 between Duncan Avenue and River Birch Lane (near the Amite Cemetery) this week. Filming will be going on that area between the hours of 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., starting Tuesday, June 1, and continuing through Friday, June 4. Amite City Police will be on site to monitor and release traffic queues, if or when necessary.

In other roadwork happening around the parish, Miller said overlay work for the week of June 1-4 is scheduled as follows:

*Asphalt overlay on Arena, Phoenix Square, Wheat Crest, Osceola, and Dummyline;

*Asphalt patching on Wheat Crest, Osceola, Dummyline, F Lea, and G Lea;

*Milling on E. Hoover, Ruth, Caroline, Harvey, North Oak, and Lafitte;

*Cement work on F Lea, G Lea, Doty, B Sanders, Wyndotte, Dummyline, and Brumfield;

*Shoulder work on Campbell, Travis, Schum, River Crest, R Harper, Morgan Howes, and Hood.

All work is weather-permitting, Miller said. Signs will be posted on the day of construction, and Miller reminds motorists to use alternate routes, where possible, due to traffic delays during the construction period.
