WHAT: EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING for max heat index readings up to 115 degrees. HEAT ADVISORY for max heat index readings near 108 degrees.

WHEN: Both from 9 AM through 7 PM today

WHERE: SELA and southern Mississippi (Maps show warning and advisory areas)

CONFIDENCE:  We have moderate confidence that heat index readings will reach 108 to 115 degrees during the late morning through afternoon hours.

Impacts: 

• Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses to occur.
