Overview:

WHAT: HEAT ADVISORY for maximum heat index readings reaching as high as 110 degrees.

WHEN: From 10 AM to 7 PM today

WHERE: Parts of southeast Louisiana and southern Mississippi

CONFIDENCE:  We have moderate to high confidence that heat index readings will reach 105 to 110 degrees during late morning and afternoon hours, and low confidence that any isolated to scattered afternoon showers or thunderstorms will bring much of a break in the heat today.

Impacts:

• Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses to occur.
