Illegal Dumping On Bankston Road In Hammond

On Thursday, July 8, 2021, Tangipahoa Parish Code Enforcement was notified of illegal dumping which occurred on Bankston Road near Crisp Road in the Hammond area.  Parish Code Enforcement officers conducted a joint investigation with the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office and were able to identify the offender.  The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office issued a criminal citation for littering to Mr. William McKinley on Friday, July 9, 2021.

Parish President Robby Miller said, "Tangipahoa Parish Government and the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office are committed to stopping the illegal dumping which all too often occurs in our Parish.  Every report of illegal dumping or intentional littering will be thoroughly investigated, and those responsible will be held accountable.  Please help us spread the word that illegal dumping and intentional littering will not be tolerated in Tangipahoa Parish!  We ask citizens who witness such illegal activity to report it immediately to local law enforcement, or the Tangipahoa Parish Code Enforcement Department by telephone at 985-602-9081, by email at enforcement@tangipahoa.org, or online at www.keeptangipahoabeautiful.org.  You may also report it through TangiCrimeStoppers by telephone at 1-800-554-5245 (JAIL) or the www.tangicrimestoppers.com website.

“Tangipahoa Parish residents are reminded they may take residential waste to the Tangipahoa Parish Landfill.  To find out more about fees and hours of operation, please call our landfill at 985-878-4403 or visit our website at www.tangipahoa.org/government/landfill.  Please note all loads taken to the landfill must be covered to avoid littering while en route.
