PRESS RELEASE: TEDF showcases Advanced

Hammond, LA — Tangipahoa Economic Development Foundation in partnership with the Amite Chamber of Commerce is pleased to present the TEDF Annual Luncheon on April 30, 2020, featuring Joey Lombardo, owner of Southland Steel, as the keynote speaker and Innovative Plant Consulting as the presenting sponsor. 

 

The theme for the annual luncheon is “I A.M. Tangipahoa” and will focus on the growing Advanced Manufacturing industry in Tangipahoa Parish.  Lombardo will share information on the history of Southland Steel and the expansion into Tangipahoa with the acquisition and renovation of the closed Bradken Steel Foundry in Amite.  

 

“Southland Steel is extremely excited about expanding into Tangipahoa Parish, working with local government and becoming part of the Amite community,” Lombardo said. “This expansion will more than double our square feet under roof to over 650,000. We look forward to utilizing this facility to expand our business, grow our customer base, and better serve our customers by vertically integrating our supply chain and strategically expanding our operations.”        

 

“We are looking forward to Mr. Lombardo sharing how he is merging the latest in technology and equipment into the world of Advanced Manufacturing through the expansion of Southland Steel into Amite.  We are grateful for his substantial investment in Tangipahoa Parish,” says Ginger Cangelosi, Executive Director of Tangipahoa Economic Development.  

Presenting sponsor Innovative Plant Consulting is also a Tangipahoa-based company offering services to companies in the exploration and production, downstream refining, chemical, and manufacturing sectors of global industry.  Other event sponsors will include Tangipahoa Parish Farm Bureau, 5 Stones Media, and Action News 17.

The luncheon will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, April 30, at the Florida Parishes Arena in Amite, LA.  Doors will open at 11:00 a.m.  Reserved tables of 7 will go on sale March 2 for $250.  Seating for event is limited.  Register early as this popular event will sell out and no registrations will be available at the door.
