PUBLIC NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING - TANGIPAHOA PARISH GOVERNMENT

Tangipahoa Parish Government will hold a public meeting related to a proposed application of 2019-20 Louisiana Community Development Block Grant (LCDBG) grant funds for Tangipahoa Parish. The public is encouraged and invited to attend and provided input, particularly low to moderate income persons. The public meeting for input will be held at 5:30 pm on Monday, April 22, 2019 in the Parish Courthouse Annex (the Parish Council Offices) at 206 E. Mulberry Street in Amite. The purpose of this meeting is to obtain public views on the housing, community, infrastructure, and economic development needs of Tangipahoa Parish, and the submission of applications for funding under the State of Louisiana CDBG Program. At a minimum, the following items will be discussed at the public meeting:

  • The amount of funds available for proposed community and economic development, housing, infrastructure, community center projects through the LCDBG allocation to the State (from HUD)
  • The range of activities that may be undertaken, including the estimated amount of funds proposed to be used for activities that will benefit persons of low to moderate income, blight reduction, or emergency needs
  • The plans of the Parish for minimizing displacement of persons as a result of activities assisted with such funds and the benefits that could be provided by the Parish to persons actually displaced as a result of such activities (if such is applicable), and
  • The Parish’s past performance on CDBG or LCDBG projects funded by the State or federal government.

All residents, particularly low to moderate income persons, and residents of any blighted area of the Parish are encouraged to attend this meeting.

Accommodations will be made for person with disabilities and non-English speaking individuals provided that a 3-day notice is received by the Parish.

Those citizens unable to attend this meeting, or wanting to submit written comments after the public meeting, may submit their views and comments until 3:30 pm on April 26, 2019 to:
