Road Work Update For Dates May 24th - 28th, 2021

LORANGER—DOTD will close a portion of LA 1062 midweek to change out a cross drain.

Tangipahoa Parish President Robby Miller said DOTD plans to close LA 1062 from a point that is eight-tenths of a mile east of Loranger Road (or 4.2 miles west of LA 445) at 7 a.m. on Wednesday, May 26 and continuing through 5 p.m. on Thursday, May 27, for cross drain replacement.

All work is weather permitting. Detours will be posted, and no traffic will be allowed through the area during the construction period, Miller said. 

In other roadwork happening around the parish, Miller said overlay work is scheduled as follows for the week of May 24-28:

*Asphalt overlay on R Harper, Hood, Arena, Phoenix Square, Wheat Crest, and Osceola;

*Asphalt patching on Phoenix Square, Hood, Arena, Wheat Crest, Osceola, Dummyline, F Lea, and G Lea;

*Milling on E. Hoover, Ruth, Caroline, and Harvey; 

*Cement work on Osceola, F Lea, G Lea, Doty, B Sanders, Wyndotte, and Dummyline;

*Shoulder work on Broadwalk, Campbell, Travis, Live Oak, F Joiner, Schum, River Crest, R Harper, Morgan Howes, Octavia, and Freret.

All work is weather-permitting, Miller said. Signs will be posted on the day of construction, and Miller reminds motorists to use alternate routes, where possible, due to traffic delays during the construction period.

Miller also reminds the public that A portion of East Bell Road will be closed from 8 a.m. until 10 p.m., on Wednesday, May 26, for film production. The area impacted includes that portion of East Bell Road between Dave Lanier Lane to LA 445.

Miller said signs will be posted and the set area will be closed to the public.
