Severe Weather Update For This Friday/Saturday 4/23-4/24/2021

Overview:
 

WHAT: MARGINAL RISK to SLIGHT RISK of Severe Weather
 

WHEN: Mainly Friday night into Saturday morning
 

WHERE: Northwest portions of the area Friday night spreading eastward across the area into Saturday morning.
 

CONFIDENCE: High confidence in thunderstorm coverage, moderate confidence that storms will be severe.

Impacts:

The main threats associated with any severe storms will be:

  • Wind gusts greater than 60 mph will be possible

  • Large hail

  • A few tornadoes

  • In addition to the severe weather threat, rainfall of 1 to 3 inches is forecast through Saturday with locally higher amounts possible, mainly north of the Interstate 10 and 12 corridors.
