AMITE—As the threat from Hurricane Sally has pushed well to our northeast, Parish President Robby Miller announced Tuesday that Tangipahoa Parish Government closed the Emergency Operations Center at 2 p.m. today and will resume normal business operations effective tomorrow.
In addition, Miller is rescinding his recommendation for a voluntary evacuation of residents living in flood prone areas and south of LA 22. That recommendation is rescinded as of Tuesday afternoon.
Miller said the order closing Tangipahoa waterways to recreational traffic remains in force for the time being.
