AMITE—Thanks to a grant from the Entergy Community Foundation, Tangipahoa Parish Government will be able to expand its growing litter abatement program across the parish.

Tangipahoa Parish President Robby Miller said the $2,000 grant will help purchase supplies to complete litter clean-up events in Independence, Amite, Kentwood, Hammond, and Ponchatoula in 2020.

“On behalf of the Tangipahoa Parish Council and our entire Tangipahoa Parish Government team, I want to thank Entergy for being a great community partner and helping us to keep Tangipahoa Parish Beautiful in 2020,” Miller said.

Parish staff, local community groups, and many individual citizen volunteers participated in clean-up events throughout the calendar year. Without their help and the support from corporate partners like Entergy Community Foundation, these events would not be possible, Miller said.
