Tangipahoa Parish Waterway Closure South Of Hwy 22

THIS PROCLAMATION ISSUED ON THIS 18th DAY OF MAY, 2021 AND EFFECTIVE AT TIME OF ISSUANCE 11:00 am.

WHEREAS the effects of rising water and continuous easterly wind in the southern end of Tangipahoa Parish and as a result of ongoing torrential rain has the potential to cause flooding of structures and damage to property, and

WHEREAS, Recreational Waterway Traffic restrictions are required to minimize the effects of the high waters; and

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Dawson K. Primes LEM, Director, Tangipahoa Parish Homeland Security and Emergency Management, by the authority vested in me by the Parish President of Tangipahoa Parish, do hereby proclaim closure to recreational traffic of all waterways south of Highway 22 in the Parish of Tangipahoa and that this proclamation will be strictly enforced by the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office and the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries.
