Illegal Dumping In Manchac On Monday June 7, 2021

MANCHAC---On Monday, June 7, 2021, Tangipahoa Parish Code Enforcement was alerted to illegal dumping, which occurred on Old Hwy 51 (the low road) between Ponchatoula and Manchac.
Christopher Ross duped Five 55-gallon drums containing various types of debris on the side of the road and into the water.
Parish Code Enforcement Officers immediately launched an investigation. Working in close coordination with the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office and the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, the offender, Christopher Ross, whose ID information had a New Orleans address, was quickly identified and located. As a result, the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries issued the offender a criminal citation for gross littering pursuant to Louisiana Revised Statute 30:2531.1.
Crews from the Tangipahoa Parish Road and Bridge Department responded to clean up the illegal dumpsite.
Parish President Robby Miller said, "This type of activity will not be tolerated in Tangipahoa Parish! We take disrespecting our community and polluting our Parish very seriously. We will thoroughly investigate these incidents and hold the offenders accountable. Our citizens expect and deserve no less.
