AMITE—After nearly four days of failed attempts, the Tangipahoa Parish Animal Services Department on Tuesday successfully rescued a resident’s puppy which had gone missing last week when it became trapped in a hole 22-feet below ground level.

Tangipahoa Parish President Robby Miller said the story began last Wednesday, when the pup went missing from a home off Richardson Road near Roseland. On Friday, homeowners found the dog in a hole next to their well pipe.

Tangipahoa Parish Animal Services attempted to assist the family in rescuing the dog, who was trapped in a hole approximately four inches in diameter and 22 feet below ground.

On Monday, Dec. 3, Snowfield Road and Camp Moore Road will be closed for cross drain replacement.

On Tuesday, Dec. 4, Edgar Traylor Road and Cannino Road will be closed for cross drain and culvert work.

Closures are scheduled from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. on the day of construction.

North Oaks Blvd at the intersection of W Club Deluxe Road will be closed to for drainage installation starting at 6:00 a.m. Thursday, October 4, 2018 through Monday, October 8, 2018.

The intersection will be closed to ALL vehicular traffic. Please use alternate route to access the area.

Tangipahoa Water District has issued a Boil Advisory for the following areas:

E. Minnesota Park, Range Rd, S Range Rd between Varisco Ln & Little Italy Rd and between S Range & Crouse Dr, due to repairs on hydrant that was damaged in accident.
