Road Work Update - 3/24/2020

HAMMOND---Tangipahoa Parish President Robby Miller announced that Willow Lane, Ponchatoula will be closed to traffic from Wednesday, March 25 through Thursday, March 26, for cross drain replacement work.

Miller said Willow Lane will be closed from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. daily, weather permitting. The cross drain installation is necessary before overlay work can begin, Miller said.

HAMMOND---Tangipahoa Parish President Robby Miller announced the following culvert work, weather permitting:

*On Wednesday, March 25, crews will close Brandon Drive in Hammond to complete culvert installation. The roadway will be closed entirely during this construction work;

*On Thursday, March 26, crews will change out a culvert on Pleasant Ridge Road Extension in Ponchatoula. Residents will be able to utilize the South I-12 Service Road to navigate around the construction zone

TPC and Fire District Meetings Cancelled

As a measure of public health and out of an abundance of caution, the Tangipahoa Parish Council meeting on Monday, March 23, 2020 has been canceled. The Council will tentatively resume meeting on the next regularly scheduled meeting date, Monday, April 13, 2020.

AMITE—On Thursday, Tangipahoa Parish President Robby Miller announced temporary changes in the parish’s recycling and community service litter abatement program amid concerns over the COVID-19 situation.

Miller said that the parish’s recycling program will be closed temporarily as part of the COVID-19 procedures. 

In addition, the Community Service Litter Abatement Program has been temporarily suspended as part of the parish’s COVID-19 response. 

Miller said the parish will reinstate these programs as soon as possible. Updates on any changes in parish services will be posted on the Tangipahoa.org website as well as all TPG social media outlets.
